Watching Debaga working is like listening someone on stage, she scratches like a DJ,  producing rhythmic sounds. Such a wonderful show!

"I draw with the sewing machine's needle. I draw by hand using the machine. For me this way of working is like tattooing since I follow a similar work philosophy. Tattoos are very personal and I'd love that my designs are special to anyone who wears something of mine"

Debaga is a constantly evolving project developed beyond fashion.

 

Debaga was born in 2004 influenced by DIY attitude as a whole way of artistic expression. Music, from the sweetest pop to the fury of punk through the most avant-garde electronics, always underground. Graffiti as a rebellious art movement that underlying social and political messages. Tattoo art as her inspiration, she works on the textile as the tattoo artist works the skin, with extreme care, having as a goal a unique result that will lasts forever. Textile art, as her foundation for artistic expression. Her tool, her sewing machine,  needle and thread, her instruments, and the textile, a blank page ready to be born.

Her designs are distinguished by her loose hand strokes. She plays with different textures and fabrics, threads and colors to create unique and unrepeatable pieces. Hand drawings featured with a sewing machine needle. From savage ones of deliberate vagueness and ingenuity to the most iconic or accurate.
